To the Wiccans

Reading about us, there is a lot of collaboration between the wiccan faith and the pagan one. I applaud you in your understanding of all things spiritual. Wiccanism holds many aspects that I try to include in my "still-developing" faith and so if you could correspond as well it would be appreciated.

As a side note

Areas of worship (or representation of Dieties)

Elements_____Metaphysical Dieties_____Actual Dieties (e.g.)
Fire___________a God_______________Greek pantheon
Earth______________Light & Darkness___Roman pantehon
Water______________Sun & Stars______Egyptian pantheon etc.
Air____________a Goddess
Spirit______________Daughter->Mother->Crone

Sorry about the underscores (have no relevant meaning), blogger is being uncooperative.

Food :

I have failed in attempting to become a vegetarian, mainly because I am an avid rugby player and they won't accept me on the team without the inclusion of meat into my diet. The reason I chose to (and still wish to) become a vegetarian was not because I feel sorry for the animal, it is the natural order of things to eat meat, otherwise it would not be on this planet. The only reason i choose not to eat it is because the pens and forced feeding, the hormones and stimulants these animals are given, that is not natural.

This is not like judaism or islam (i.e. no pork). If it is food it should be eaten, that is why the universe has supplied it. But - if we were meant to eat extraordinarily fat cattle that move very little in their lifetime, then they would have been created as such.

Just my thoughts

Subject - Being Gay

First and foremost, I am not homosexual. I like WOMEN. But that being said, I have some gay friends (and relatives) and feel the topic should be adressed. homosexuality is accepted with open arms. Just because you love someone of your own gender, your life is not suddenly devalued, you are no less human. What will be encouraged though (if my religion becomes renowned) is the adoption of children or synthetic fertilisation to create new life. (If the whole world turned gay and no children were born there would be no us etc.)

Tranquil Night

The moon is an important part of paganism. It represents the three stages of life as "daughter" "mother" and "crone". This in turn is represented by the top three points of the pentagram. The moon is a symbol of many things and generally denotes the woman. there are many goddesses related to the moon in pagan mythology. Although I worship the elements, I also choose to worship the sun and moon, not simply because they are part of the universe, but also because they drive the life of the Earth. The sun gives energy to the world and the moon controls the tides of the ocean.

tonight was the first night I truly worshipped the moon and the feeling of calm that passed over me was serene. I can barely recall other times in which i have felt so centered. (Not including meditation, but the moon gives faster results). I see now why many seek solace in religion, but their skewed views cause more heartache than good.

*Thought for the day : Smile at funerals, people have gone to a better place, not the hellish monocromatic planet that we have created*

Concerning divine Intervention

Looking around you, you see the trees and the air, and are aware of the metals in the soil etc. In most religions, praying to your divine power will deliver something to you, money to solve your problems etc.

In my belief, the Elements, the Universe, has already suppllied everything you have ever and will ever need. Praying to the Elements will not make your problems magically disappear, but they will bring the tools you need to light, so that you may complete your goal on your own, show some innitiative.

No-one will solve your problems for you. Do it yourself. (Manual labour also helps)

To Clarify

The reasons paganism is so misconstrued is mostly as a result of the christian church. Although paganism itself is a religion, the Christian Church labeled anything not Christian as Paganism. Through time and the influence of other major religions, every religion not belonging to a major sect or cult was referred to as Paganism.

The Pentagram --
Yet again a result of Christianity (with influences from Hollywood) the pentagram has been shown in the light of devil worship (and in the da vinci code - woman worship) WRONG. Satanism is represented by an inverted (or perverse) pentagram. The church of satanism is represented by an inverse pentagram with a goat's head in the middle.

Sorry about the short post.

(Also note that the bible compares Christians to Sheep constantly. Oh how I laughed at that one.)

A Summary

Please first note that in time amendments will be made, new work will be added and things will change.

Also, this is my religion, not yours, you do not have to follow it! Comments would be appreciated.

My belief centers around the elements (represented by the pentagram NOT SATANISM) of Earth, Water, Fire, Air, Spirit (or Akasha). Also through the fact that all life (which is sacred) is formed of energy (the universe) and therefore everything is interconnected. We are GOD. But so is the ant and the tree and the wind etc.

Sex is a celebration of life and love and so is held in high esteem. I preach caution on sexual partners today only because of diseases such as AIDS, but it will not be frowned upon if you take many sexual partners, wives etc.

Marriage itself is an unnecessary institution. Do you need a christian priest to tell you s/he is meant for you? If marriage rites are required though, the tying of intertwined hands with a ribbon and your own vows will be sufficient.

Having friends whom are vampires, i feel this topic should be covered. In my opinion, the sharing of blood is in itself a celebration of life. Giving your life (in essence) to another is a true act of love and intimacy. It must be noted though that KILLING IS FORBIDDEN. By killing another human being you devalue yourself and your beliefs. Even in vamparism, strict discipline must be held .

The Afterlife. There will be no book or angel to judge your worth. You are a part of the universe and therefore will remain a part. Your soul may be recycled (reincarnation) or be broken down to fill the stars or a tree in your backyard. I DO NOT KNOW WHAT HAPPENS but that is my belief nonetheless.

Since the internet will spew forth rubbish that all pagans practice magic(k), it is A LIE! Magic is another lifestyle choice (not necessary one in reality but I have my hopes that it exists). Not all pagans practice magic (i for one do not) and yet this religion, as with so many other things, does not barr them simply because they do not adhere to the sociological or theological beliefs of the chosen few (*cough*cough*Christianity*) I hope that offends you, mindless sheep. Watch Religilous!

Dieties are another option. I personally pray to the 5 Elements and the universe, but many other pagan variations prefer diety representations. Again this is allowed but not followed by all.

Please comment as i would like to expand my own understanding of this and maybe one day cement a fixed ideology. For now the religion grows with me.
